Describe the procedure to make hydrogen gas by zinc and hydrochloric acid (whole procedure)?

This is a simple procedure. First, get a dry conical flask. Then, place some HCl in the flask. Next place a rubber cap over the flask (the one hole variety), connect a delivery tube with a gas jar, and quickly drop a piece of zinc into the acid (preferably powdered). Once the metal makes contact with the acid, insert the delivery tube into the flask. The gas will make its way into the gas jar. Cap the jar after you're sure that all the gas is in the jar. (You can fill the jar with water beforehand as an indication for the gas.)
