Must you have a top sheet with a machine-washable quilt ?

If it's your own bed, do what makes you comfortable. If it's a guest bed, it is a good idea to have some sheets. I can't imagine your guests want to sleep under a blanket most of the year. It's not a question of seeming weird, its a question of overheating.
