Terminator salvation figures - how long till they worth anything?

i just got two figures from the terminator salvation movie for christmas but i dont know if its worth opening them a lot. i see so many toys on the net that are worth loads as the years go on. am thinking that if i just display them as they are they might gain in value after a few years, how many year am i going to have to wait though cause if its like 40 years i cant be bothered and i'll probably just open them. lol
